Barry Jon Day

Barry J. Day, 57, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at O'Connor Memorial Chapel. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Barry Jon Day was born August 11, 1961 in Great Falls MT and passed away January 24, 2019 from heart failure due to Telomere Syndrome.Barry spent most of his life in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High School. Barry provided for his daughters for 14 years by himself until he married the love of his life, Penny Sykes in April 2005. Barry was a mechanic who spent many years working at Falls Tire, Midas, Bennett Motors and Meineke.He gave up working as a mechanic and found a job that he really, really loved, as a transportation driver for Brookdale Senior Living.I don’t think that anyone has loved a job more than he loved driving the residents to appointments and activities.It kinda irritated me that he was excited to go to work and would come home and tell me what a great day he had!Barry also loved his motorcycles, cars, and camping.Barry truly loved to run around in the mountains on the 4-wheelers with Lee and Robert. He had recently taken up welding scrap metal together to make yard ornaments for the family, friends and benefits. Barry is survived by his wife Penny, daughters Ashley Day and Tabatha (Dale) Moore, his adoptive mother Donna (Ed) Baroch and biological father Gene Patton; his brothers Scott Day and Dennis (Trudy) Day; his in-laws, nieces and nephews and his many, many friends.Also his fur babies Winnie and Polly. Barry was preceded in death by his biological mother Sandra Konrad, his adoptive father Darrell, his sisters Debbie and Cindy, his mother-in-law Ruth Sykes, grandparents and Fur Baby Kumo. Good-bye my love, I will never again hear the words “Good Morning Beautiful” again and it breaks my heart.
