Betty Lou LaMere

Betty Lou LaMere, born September 10, 1936, passed away on August 26, 2026. She will be remembered as a kind and devoted woman whose family was at the center of her life, and whose warmth was felt in gatherings, celebrations, and everyday moments shared with those she loved.

Betty loved spending time with her large family, and family was deeply important to her. She was known for her kindness and for the joy she found in birthdays and holiday celebrations with family and friends. She enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and playing bingo, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She worked as a Dietary Aide from 1978 to 1983. In her personal life, Betty was married to Stanley Crowder. She later married Michael LaMere in 1978 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and they shared 28 years of marriage. Betty was the mother of five children and was part of a family that included six siblings, two sisters and four brothers.

Betty is survived by her children, Richard LaMere, Ronald Crowder, Randy Crowder, and Tina Fields. Their lives, along with the many generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who brought her so much happiness, stand as a lasting reflection of the love she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charlie and Nelly Lane; her husbands, Stanley Crowder and Michael LaMere; her daughter, Penny Srb; her sisters, Mildred and Lucille Hill; and her brothers, Edward, Gordon, Clyde, and Robert Lane.

A memorial service will be held on September 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at O'Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Avenue North, Great Falls, Montana 59401 followed by burial of her ashes at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Betty Lou LaMere will be remembered with love for her generous heart, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the deep care she gave to her family and friends. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
