Carl A. Swanson, D.O.

Carl was born on October 25, 1947, in St. Cloud, MN, to Arthur and Marion Swanson. He loved music and played the trumpet in his high school band. He also played baseball in high school. He became an avid golf enthusiast later in life. Carl was on active duty at Malmstrom Air Force Base from 1974-1976, and then in the Montana Air National Guard. He retired from the guard in 2001 as a Lt. Colonel. He graduated from Pacific University in Oregon with a degree in Optometry. He practiced Optometry in Great Falls until his retirement in 2013. He also performed volunteer eye exams at the Rescue Mission. He is survived by his wife, Dionne; three sons from a previous marriage, Jack (Heather) Swanson, Scott (Fauna) Swanson, and Chris Swanson; stepson, Chad (Erica) Brady; sister, Doris; brother, Ross; and 11 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Beehive Mesquite Home or Peace Hospice.
