Clara Pearl (Metvedt) Wacker, 88, of Great Falls and a longtime resident of Cut Bank, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Peace Hospice. Memorial services for Clara will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Great Falls. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:30 am at Crown Hill Cemetery in Cut Bank. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Clara was born January 19, 1926 in Westby, MT to Ole and Ida (Nelson) Medvedt. She was raised and educated in Westby and went on to attend Western Montana College and Eastern Montana Normal School where she received a provisional teaching certificate. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Leroy R. Wacker. The two remained inseparable until Leroy’s passing in 1997. Clara was truly a woman of many talents. Along with her husband, Leroy she was the owner and operator of Roy’s Dairy, a teacher, cake decorator, and a floral designer. She was a Girl Scout leader and was very involved in her church; teaching Sunday school and Bible school. Clara enjoyed playing pinochle, cake decorating, and gardening. She was always there to help her friends and neighbors. Clara is survived by her daughters, Carmen (Bill) Galt, JoAnn (Rick) Wacker-Farrand, and Lee Ann (George) Nehiley; son Darrel (Nataliia) Wacker; sister Alice Sauvageau; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Wacker; parents Ole and Ida Metvedt; brothers Gustav Metvedt and Obert Metvedt; and sisters Trena Patterson and Ruth Normand.
