Edna Evans, 96, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her residence. At her request, no services are planned. Cremation is in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Edna was born October 19, 1920 in Vallejo, CA where she was raised and attended schools. She received her nurse’s training at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco. Edna married her high school sweetheart, Darrell Evans, in 1942. When Darrell was in the service during WWII, she followed him until he was sent overseas. Upon his return to Vallejo they lived there for 14 years. Edna worked as a registered nurse wherever they lived. She enjoyed travelling, playing golf, reading, and was a fearsome bridge player. She especially loved her grandchildren, nieces, and also a grandniece. She was a volunteer for many things – the Square Christmas Show, she ushered at the Civic Center, knitted baby hats for the hospital, worked with the guild at UGF, Friendship Force, Salvation Army Auxiliary, and Benefis Hospital Auxiliary. Edna is survived by her son Ronald Evans; two grandchildren Brent and Laurel; two nieces Margie and Fran; and a grandniece Kim. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, in 1983; and son Richard Evans in 2012.
