Edward "Ed" Schultz

Edward “Ed” John Schultz, Jr., 84, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Peace Hospice Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. A vigil service will be held Friday, February 20 at 7:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 201 44th Street South in Great Falls. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Edward was born April 26, 1930 in Great Falls to Edward and Dorothy Schultz. He attended local schools and lived in Great Falls all of his life. On May 23, 1959 Edward married Bernadette Spragg at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Edward worked as a civil engineer for Squadron 341-MAFB and as journeyman plumber for thirty-eight years. He was actively involved in the Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge #214 as a lifetime member, the Eagles, the Moose Lodge, AARP, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. In his free time Ed was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed attending Great Falls Dodgers games. Ed also enjoyed watching old movies’, taking his grandson, Justin, bowling, and spending time with his dog, Daisy. He loved having family dinners, especially tacos, at his daughter Kathie’s house. He is survived by his daughter, Kathie (Charlie) Schultz-Knapp; son Timothy Schultz; grandchildren Justin Knapp, Krista Knapp, Erika Woodson, and Jessica Bacheller; and great-grandchildren Darius Knapp, Austin Woodson, Bella Woodson, and Cassie Woodson. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bernadette and brother Wayne Schultz. Memorials may be made in Edward’s name to the Ursuline Academy.
