Gregory "Greg" Alan Sattoriva

Apr 16, 1955 — Jul 6, 2026

Great Falls, MT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Alan "Greg" Sattoriva, age 71, on July 6, 2026, following complications from a previous injury.

Greg was born on April 16, 1955, and was raised in Great Falls, Montana, a community that remained home for much of his life. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1973, attended MSU Bozeman for a couple of years before beginning a long and accomplished career with BNSF Railway, where he dedicated more than 41 years before retiring.

Greg was known for his unforgettable smile, adventurous spirit, and ability to live life on his own terms. He had a tremendous love for summer, the Missouri River, and loud, fast boats. A true Great Falls "River Rat King." Greg was happiest soaking up the sun while floating the river or pushing the throttle down on one of his many boats. His smile was never bigger than when he was on the water. He was also an exceptional water skier during his younger days, always seeming to get the best run. One of his greatest attributes was inspiring those around him to enjoy every moment.

Beyond the river, Greg had a deep love for animals and the outdoors. He grew up fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and continued to enjoy spending time in nature throughout his life. He believed in staying active, whether he was lifting weights, riding his bike, or walking his beloved dog. His dedication to fitness led him to competitive bodybuilding, where he proudly earned the title of Mr. Montana, an accomplishment that reflected his discipline and determination.

Greg had immense love for his family and is survived by his daughter, Sydney Green (Chad); son, Todd Clark (Lara); brother, Glen Sattoriva (Peggy); niece, Jessica Sattoriva-Paez (John); nephew, David Sattoriva (Katie); and many other extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Maggie Sattoriva.

Greg's independent personality, infectious smile, and love of adventure will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on every sunny day on the river, every roar of a boat engine, and every story shared among family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, laugh, remember, and celebrate the remarkable life of Greg.
