Herman Bruno

Herman Bruno, 91, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at O'Connor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow after the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Herman was born on August 14, 1929, in Choteau, MT to Mack and Marie (LaRance) Bruno. He received his early education at Belview in a one room rural school. He graduated from Choteau High School. After graduation he went to serve during the Korean War on a US Navy Destroyer. From a young age he helped his family as a ranch hand in Teton County on his family’s ranch and other ranches in the area. When he returned from Korea, he became a heavy equipment operator for many highway construction projects throughout the state of Montana. He retired after 35 years in 1990. He married Rose Wahl and became a father to her eight children. She passed away on September 26, 2017. He loved fishing, rock hounding, and making jewelry with his wife, Rose. He participated in many gun and antique shows around the state selling his jewelry. Herman is survived by his daughter, Jane; sons, Terry, Ted, and Tag; special niece, Linda (Chuck) Watson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; daughters, Joyce, Judy, and JoAnn; son, Tim; parents; and his brothers, Howard, Mack Jr., and Eugene.
