Judith "Judy" Deane Wagner

Judith Deane Wagner, formerly Gray-Johnson, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, in Black Eagle, Montana, at the age of 84.

Judy was born on March 14, 1942, in Havre, Montana, to Charles Johnson and Margaret Gebhardt. She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Jake Gray, who played an important role in her life.

Throughout her working years, Judy was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She worked in data processing at Butlers Warehouse and later as a bakery employee at Buttrey’s, Albertsons, and Hempl’s, where she made many lasting friendships.

Judy especially enjoyed stock car and sprint car racing, autocross racing, golfing, playing darts, and shooting pool. She embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed sharing her interests with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Wagner of Great Falls and Mary Martell of Black Eagle; son, Scott Wagner of Billings; and sister, Kathy Zuelke; three grandchildren, Garianne, Gabrielle, and Marick; as well as seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Wagner; parents, Charles Johnson, Margaret Gebhardt, and Jake Gray; and sister, Becky Hewitt.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Bootlegger Casino, 3220 15th Street North, Black Eagle, Montana. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Judy's life, share memories, and honor the joy she brought to those who knew and loved her.

Judy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, hardworking nature, and the love she had for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
