Marian Poupa "Mimi" Farrell

Marian Poupa “Mimi” Farrell went to be with her Lord on August 27, 2018 at the age of 89. She passed away of natural causes and was surrounded by her family. The family would like to invite you to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church to share memories of Marian on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10 a.m., with the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Marian was born in Mildred, Montana on April 11, 1929 at the start of the Depression.Because of hard times, Marian went to live with her oldest sister in Minnesota. During her Minnesota high school years she met her forever best friend, Donna Grady. In 1948, Marian moved back to Great Falls where she met the love of her life, Ron Farrell.A year later they married and had two children—Ronda and Jim Farrell.Her granddaughters, K C Banik-Smith (Dace), KayDee Banik, were her world, and there was hardly a day that she did not talk to them. Marian worked at Montana Bank where she became the first teller to work at a drive-through window. Later she worked as a part-time bartender at the Heidelberg. Marian enjoyed her time with friends and family at the old homestead in Bynum and picnics at Hughesville. After Ron passed away, she enjoyed traveling, winters in Yuma, Arizona and summers at Flathead Lake. Marian is survived by daughter Ronda Banik (Carl) and son Jim Farrell (Maxine); granddaughters K C Banik-Smith (Dace),KayDee Banik; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and her special friend Dick “Fargo” Jochinsen. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Agnes, Alice, Arlene, Gladys; and her brother Tony.
