Mary E Scarber

Mary Elizabeth Scarber, 86, of Billings, MT went to be with her Savior on October 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church in Great Falls on November 4, 2014 at 11:00 am, with interment following at Highland Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mary was born in Saskatchewan, Canada. She married Howard Clifford Scarber in 1952. Being an Air Force wife, she moved around the states with Howard and returned to Great Falls, MT in 1963, where she raised her family. Family was of the utmost importance to her throughout her life. Mary was a homemaker and raised five children in Great Falls – Clifford, Henry, Jo Elaine, Sarah, and Brian. She resided in Great Falls until moving to Billings in 2009 to be closer to her family. Mary was very active at First Southern Baptist Church and served as the church hostess for many years. Mary also used her culinary skills to bake for her friends and was renowned for her banana and chocolate zucchini breads. She is survived by her sister Agnes; sons Henry and Brian; daughters Jo and Sarah; eight grandchildren – Amber, Deacon, James, Brandon, Lizzie, Alex, Jessica, and Clifford; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mary loved them all. The emptiness that is felt in her friends’ and family’s heart will not be filled until we join her with our Savior in Glory. Mary was preceded in death by her three brothers, her husband and their first born son.
