Michelene "Micki" Joanne (Durell) Fura

Michelene “Micki” Joanne (Durell) Fura of Great Falls, MT, passed away on July 26, 2019, from complications of ovarian cancer. No services are planned and cremation has taken place. Micki was born on September 22, 1954, in Glasgow, MT, to William “Bill” and Darlene Stenbakken Durell. She was both baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Glasgow. She was a 1972 graduate of Glasgow High School. She married Randy Olson in 1972 and later divorced. They have three children, Christina, Jory, and Jill. She later married Daniel Fura of Great Falls, MT in 1993, and became a stepmom to Becky and Krista. She earned her R.N. degree in 1980 in Rapid City, SD. She was an E.R. nurse at Columbus and Deaconess Hospitals, which is now called Benefis. Micki was also a flight nurse for Mercy Flight until 1987. She retired from the hospital and started working for Blue Cross Blue Shield until her retirement in 2015. Micki was a devoted mother and grandmother who was also an avid reader and quilter. She loved spending time with her dogs and golfing with her husband and various grandchildren. Micki is survived by her husband, Dan Fura, of Great Falls; children, Christina (Stewart) Olson Conaway of Denver, CO, Jory Olson of Rapid City, SD, Jill Olson Cina of Rapid City, SD, Becky Fura Evans of Great Falls and Krista (Kevin) Fura Kolve of Great Falls; twelve grandchildren; her parents, Bill and Darlene Durell, of Glasgow; three brothers,Bernard “Lonnie” (Sandy) Durell of Weirsdale, FL, Daniel (Lenore) Durell of Glasgow, Gary (Paula) Durell of Billing, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and sister Lori Durell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sletten Cancer Institute and/or Peace Hospice House, both in Great Falls, MT.
