Yakima — MSgt Terry Dean Jensen, age 59, completed his journey September 15,2014, at Garden Village, in Yakima, WA after a long battle with a terminal illness. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 13th Street South. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Terry, the son of the late Dean and Wanda Jensen was born in Stuart, Iowa on July 9, 1955. Terry was a 24 year Veteran of the United States Air Force, stationed at Malmstrom AFB, Montana. He excelled at his job and in his community; his attention to detail was legendary. During his service he earned several medals and commendations including: Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 OLC, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 OLC, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 7 OLC, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 6 OLC, and Meritorious Service Medal. While off duty he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and time with friends and family. He was a dedicated father and passionate friend to many. He graduated from Cañon City High School in Cañon City, CO in May of 1973 and entering the United States Air Force January 1975. Terry is survived by his two children: Heather (Trevor) Haney and Corey Jensen. Five grandchildren: Christian, Alanna, Brody and Dean Haney, and Chloe. Also surviving: his sister, Debbie (Wilbur) Giem and brothers Jerry (Marie) and Glen Jensen. Terry is also survived by his friend and mother of his children, Kathy Carlstad and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents; sister, Judy Giem; brother, Kerry Jensen; and sister in-law Pam Jensen preceded him in the journey.
