Paul W. Moes, 77, of Great Falls, Montana passed peacefully with his wife and immediate family by his side on October 14, 2026, at Peace Hospice.
A vigil will take place at O’Connor Memorial Chapel on October 18, 2026, at 6 pm. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 1pm. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following the mass.
Paul was born to Big Sandy farmers, Carol and Ray Moes, on August 9, 1949, in Havre, Montana. He graduated from Power High School in 1967 and a few months later he started his 20 year career with Bearing Sales. Starting out stocking shelves and ending with managing their store in Moses Lake, Washington. He owned and operated Paul’s Auto and Supply in Shelby and went on to be the parts manager at Bison Ford for the next 15 years.
He married his wife, Carol, in 1967 and to this union Bonita and Christopher were born. Both children passed away in 2021, 47 days apart. In the early 2000’s, they adopted Kinden and Christina. He felt so very proud to be blessed with 5 grandchildren and 5 beautiful great-granddaughters. He loved coaching the kids in various sports and watching and following them in their sporting activities.
Paul loved to hunt, especially Elk, with his last hunt being in November of 2024, with his nephew, Ken Rogers. And because of that hunt he became a published author for the Rocky Mountain Elk magazine. Many camping trips with the family and late-night card games gave us all memories to hold onto. On a horse in the mountains he always said had to be the next best thing to heaven. His favorite hobby was working with leather, creating family and friends belts, briefcases, and just about anything anyone wanted.
Paul was preceded in death by his children, Bonita and Christopher Moes; parents, Carol and Ray Moes; and sister, (his partner in crime) Shirley Feist.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Erickson Moes; adopted children, Kinden and Christina Moes; 5 grandchildren, Derek (wife, Kelly), Brandon (wife, Sofia), and Paisley Moes, Ashlyn (Cayden) and Caitlyn (Isaac) Smith; and 5 beautiful great-granddaughters; very close friend, Don; and sister, Linda.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness and strength, and will to live life to the fullest.
Paul you were so loved….rest easy my love.
