Rev. Daniel P Hofer

Rev. Daniel Peter Hofer, 64, our beloved father and husband was suddenly called to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born on January 1, 1951 to Peter and Sara Hofer on Milford Colony and resided there for the rest of his life. He married the love of his life Elizabeth Wipf on November 21, 1978 and they enjoyed 36 wonderful years together. To this union five children were born: one son and four daughters. Daniel was called by the Lord on December 15, 1982 to be a minister for the Milford Colony. He faithfully preached for 32 years. He was a mechanic and electrician for the colony. The last four years he helped his son in the cow barn. He also did various jobs in the colony, helping wherever he was needed. The light of his life were his grandchildren. He loved to sing, and whenever you met him he was always humming a hymn. Daniel is survived by his wife Elizabeth; son Daniel (Barbra) of Milford Colony; daughters Theresa (Ronnie) and Rachel (Kevin) of Mountain View Colony, Sara (George) of Cascade Colony, and Rosa of Milford Colony; brothers Peter “Bob” (Sara), Elias (Clara) and Paul (Elizabeth) of Milford Colony; sisters Sara (Eli) of Milford Colony and Dorothy (Peter) of Martinsdale Colony; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his dad Peter; mom Sara; and his father and mother-in-law Elias and Anna. Rest in Peace our loved one. You are the rock that held our family together. Until we meet again…..May God hold you in His hands. Daniel will be missed sorely.
