Richard "Dick" Ballatore

Richard “Dick” Ballatore passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Great Falls, Montana. A viewing will be held 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at O’Connor Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Armington Road, Belt, Montana. Dick was born in Belt, Montana on February 23, 1922 to Sam and Mayme Ballatore. He received his education in Belt and entered the U.S. Army during WWII.He served as a locomotive mechanic.He served in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. After his discharge, Dick returned to Belt, Montana.He met and married Betty Elizabeth Arnett on May 22, 1964 in Great Falls Montana. He worked for 41 years with the railroad, than retired. Dick enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of Saint Marks’s Catholic Church. He was survived by his daughter Roxy Arnett of Great Falls, MT; brother Frank Ballatore of Belt, MT; grandchildren Samuel C. (Cindy) Clugston IV of Great Falls, MT, and Roselyn Sue Oja, of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his wife “Betty” Elizabeth Arnet on October 17, 2017; parents, Sam and Mayme Ballatore; brother Tony Ballatore; sisters Julia and Josephine; grandson Michael Oja; and great-grandson Scotty.
